This year, the J Harper Kent Charitable Foundation awarded over 40 scholarships to graduates in the Bathurst area. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over two million dollars in scholarships.

About the Scholarship
Candidates must be Canadian Citizens.
Only residents from the Bathurst area graduating from either of the two Bathurst high schools need apply.
Candidates will be selected based on both academic achievements and financial need.
Scholarships will be granted for attendance at the college/university of the candidate’s choice with preference given to colleges.universities in Atlantic Provinces.
Priority will be given to candidates entering college/university at the first year level. Candidates must apply each year.
This is a two part application form and each part must be completed and received by the due dates.
Katie Gammon
Katie graduated from Bathurst High School in 1998. A member of the varsity basketball, volleyball, soccer, and hockey teams, she was honored as BHS Female Athlete of the Year. After graduation, she attended St. Mary’s University and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2002. While at St. Mary’s, Katie was a member of the varsity basketball team. In 2006, Katie graduated from Dalhousie University’s College of Pharmacy and began working as a pharmacist at Jean Coutu in Bathurst. Katie currently resides in Bathurst and is the assistant coach of the BHS Varsity Girls Basketball Team.
