This year, the J Harper Kent Charitable Foundation awarded over 40 scholarships to graduates in the Bathurst area. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over two million dollars in scholarships.

Colin Brewster Bathurst, New Brunswick
Colin graduated from Bathurst High School in 1989. In his graduating year, he served as Student Council President and was a member of the varsity basketball, volleyball, and golf teams. Colin graduated from The University of New Brunswick in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. In 2000, he earned a Certified Financial Planner designation and he is presently a financial planner with Dundee Wealth. Colin lives in Bathurst with his wife Ginette and three children Mason, Anna, and Simon.
Alberta Butimer Beresford, New Bruswick
Alberta graduated from Bathurst High School in 1983. After graduation, she attended Mount Allison University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce. She became a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and presently manages her own public accounting business in Beresford. Her practice has just celebrated its 10th anniversary. Alberta currently lives in Beresford with her husband Marc and daughter Natasha.
Adam Chamberlain Bathurst, New Brunswick
Adam graduated from Bathurst High School in 2000. While at BHS he was a member of the varsity golf, hockey, and volleyball teams. In 2006, Adam graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Adam was a member of the University’s varsity golf team. Currently, Adam is the Assistant Golf Professional at Gowan Brae Golf and Country Club. He is currently training to become a Head Golf Professional. Adam lives in Bathurst and is the coach of the BHS Varsity Hockey Team.
Heather Conde Bathurst, New Brunswick
Heather is a 2001 graduate of Bathurst High School. While at BHS, she was a member of the varsity volleyball and soccer teams and was involved with Student Representative Council as Executive Assistant and Assistant Treasurer. After graduation, she attended the University of New Brunswick earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and a Master’s Degree in Economics. In 2007, Heather earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and is currently a teaching at Bathurst High School. Heather presently coaches the BHS Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball Team.
Katie Gammon Bathurst, New Brunswick
Katie graduated from Bathurst High School in 1998. A member of the varsity basketball, volleyball, soccer, and hockey teams, she was honored as BHS Female Athlete of the Year. After graduation, she attended St. Mary’s University and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2002. While at St. Mary’s, Katie was a member of the varsity basketball team. In 2006, Katie graduated from Dalhousie University’s College of Pharmacy and began working as a pharmacist at Jean Coutu in Bathurst. Katie currently resides in Bathurst and is the assistant coach of the BHS Varsity Girls Basketball Team.
Patrick Levesque Bathurst, New Brunswick
Patrick graduated from Bathurst High School in 2000. He was a member of the BHS Boys Varsity Hockey Team. After graduation, he earned a Diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. He is currently a Senior Accountant at Grant Thornton LLP in Bathurst. Patrick is studying to become a Chartered Accountant and he is scheduled to have his designation in 2009.
